根據法新社和英國廣播公司（BBC）報導，全球游泳服飾品牌Speedo和美國時尚品牌雷夫羅倫公司（Ralph Laurent）宣布結束贊助32歲的洛克特。
Speedo指出洛克特的行為未反映該公司希望推動的「價值」。雷夫羅倫公司則表示，不會和洛克特續約。
日本床墊品牌愛維福（Airweave）和除毛業者賽諾龍（Syneron Candela）也宣布跟進。賽諾隆4個月前才請來洛克特擔任全球品牌大使。
洛克特聲稱被搶讓主辦國巴西顏面掃地，引發當地警方和政府憤怒，搶占這場南美洲首次奧運的新聞版面，美國奧林匹克委員會也被迫出面道歉。
已拿下12面奧運獎牌的洛克特20日接受巴西「環球電視台」（Globo TV）專訪時道歉表示： 「我某種程度沒有說謊。我過度誇大了我遇到的事。」
